The RS200 is a two-person asymmetric dinghy and one of the classes regularly raced at Castle Semple. Phil Morrison designed it in 1995 as a smaller sister to the RS400, and it was among the boats that started the asymmetric revolution in British dinghy sailing.
It is four metres long and sailed hiking, with no trapeze and no wings, so there is less to go wrong than on a skiff. The asymmetric spinnaker is handled on a single line, which means the kite goes up and comes down without much drama. The class suits combined crew weights from roughly 100 kg to 170 kg, so it works for a wide range of pairings, including parent-and-child crews.
It has the largest national championship fleets of any double-handed class in the UK.
